Android 4.1,.2, Jelly Bean improves on the simplicity and beauty of Android 4.0, and introduces a new Google search experience on Android.

Back Up Your Information

This software update was designed to apply an update to the operating system of the device while leaving certain types of user data intact, including pictures, videos, and contacts. To be safe, it is best practice to always back up all data in the event that your information is lost.

Note: Your SIM card and any external microSD™ memory card may remain installed during this update. You may remove either or both prior to beginning the process, if desired. Remember to re-install both after the update process has completed.

How Do I Check My Current Software Version?

  1. From any home screen touch Menu > Settings > About Phone.
  2. Scroll to the bottom and look for Baseband Version. It should be I747UCLEM,I747UCLG1, I747UCLH9, I747UCLI5, or I747UCDLK3 before updating. It will beI747UCDMG2 after the update.

What Will This Update Do?

This update will address the following:

OS upgrade to Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean).

Software update includes

  • Auto Share Shot with NFC: By setting the camera to "Auto Share Shot" mode, you can quickly share your photos and videos by simply tapping their GALAXY S III with other NFC and S-Beam enabled devices
  • Camera features: Paper artist and best face options.
  • AT&T apps: AT&T services, Drive Mode, AT&T Locker; Family Map, Live TV, and SmartWifi have been loaded.
  • Other enhancements: Includes calendar, SD Card, and S-Voice enhancements.

What to expect after the update

How to update your Samsung Galaxy S III

  1. Customers will receive an alert and be prompted to download the update when connected to a Wi-Fi network. To initiate the update manually, go to Settings >About device > Software update > Check for updates.
  2. Touch Continue or Postpone.NOTE: Users can postpone 1,4, or 8 hours and up to 3 times.
  3. The device automatically start downloading the software update. Touch Continue.
  4. The device will automatically restart once the new software has successfully installed.
  5. A confirmation message will be displayed upon successful update. Touch Done.
  6. To verify the updated software version, go to SettingsAbout phone. The following information will be displayed:
    • Android version: 4.1.2
    • Baseband version: i747UCDMG2
    • Build number: JZO54K.i747UCDMG2
